More XMAS Floods photos

Here is some Beta testing photos of the XMAS Floods... please bear with me as I am doing a "crash" course on DMX sequencing, it is a bit different, but seems pretty easy to get the hang of....

I was able to get a few more photos and a video tonight of the XMAS Floods, but then the battery on my camera kinda went dead. I forgot to charge it last night ( bad William!!!). BUT I am editing the video and will post the vimeo link here later

I had a few email requests for a few different things, hopefully this covers a some of them. Thanks for the challenges!! I used the front of my house to give a more real world use feel. My neighbor saw me and asked if it was that time of year again, and did we miss a few months somewhere??

Let me know if you have a scenerio I may be able to duplicate.. ( distance from wall, angle etc....) I will do my best to fill your requests..

A fellow PCer sent me a photo of his house to see of I can duplicate some of his scenerios best I can and he also had a 2 story with a second roof line. He also gave me a max limit of 7ft from the wall..

To duplicate his porch best I could, the left one is 4ft from the wall right at the edge of the concrete on the porch. It seemd to have filled in the porch are pretty well. If that silly pole wasnt there, I would have prefered about 5 to 6 feet back, and I really think the dispersion pattern really starts to improve...

To duplicate the second roof line with the right flood I set it 1ft. in front of the planter which is 4ft from the wall This gives a total of 5 ft from the wall.. I also set it up on a wood block to get the light above the planter wall.

Now the last 3 photos.. I have a BRIGHT street light right across from my house. The photo of the street light was taken from under my porch. So I decided to play.. Another fellow PCer said something about a 25ft peak.. ok... a test of how bright these really are... from the edge of my porch to the sidewalk is 27ft. So I set one flood there and aimed it at the top peak of my roof, which is recessed BACK about another 10+ feet. so we are talking around 40 feet. The floods will still light up the front of my house and the peak!! Not as bright as it being 7 to 10 feet back but it does illuminate! and this is with a bright street light!!! Then my battery totally went plunk... I will do this again on the back of my house later.

There called X.M.A.S wall wash units. There are still in beta testing. They should be out soon. William was lucky enough to get a couple of them to test.

iam thinking about buying a few but they are expensive, but worth it all.

Here is my house color during the day, to give you an idea. The color name is "Desert Tan", its a southwest thing.

I am sure different color houses will react a bit differently.

Craig had said a few days (or weeks) ago that they were going to run about $200 +/-, He is not shure yet but he is going to give us the best price he can, but all the electronis, led's, and enclosure do cost some money so that is the reason for the cost.
