Gary,

Nice sampling. Note: A diffuser will not widen the beam per se, it only serves to soften the "spot" it and even it out across the beam that is there. You need to check the specs on the units, they should tell you what the beam angle is. Tim has a point, and this is even for floods, you have spots, and washes.

Diffuser ought to help a ton. The Deliya looks pretty similar to the American DJ P64 LED Pro's that I use..almost identical, actually...mine have 181 10mm and the Deliya has 183... (Except I paid $299 for mine...eek!!)

WOW!! That is a huge difference.

Looking at the top corners of your backboard, if the light is in the same exact spot and angel, your diffuser spreads the light out very well.

Cool. Best I've seen so far is about $125 (don't ask me where, I have notes somewhere but I'd have to dig )

So the question remains -- what's better for the money: a single 200B, or two of these, plus some change? After comparing the ColorSplash 200B to the Jr, I definitely decided that a single 200B is better than 2 Jr's... I'm almost tempted to pick up a Delyia just to compare it... I could use it somewhere even if it's sub-par...

I am going to use a flourescent light diffuser like someone else posted in this thread. It should soften the beam enough to make me happy.

And yes, I wish I'd picked up a ColorSplash 200b to compare it against but those are outside the range of prices I'm looking for!

Keep in mind, this Deliya is only eighty bucks in quantity! It's now listed in their webstore as $85 for a single unit. Unfortunately they don't list much in the way of technical specs for it anywhere. The beam angle is about the same as the ColorSpash JR though if that helps. The light output is so much greater that you can easily place it farther way to cover a larger area.

As I mentioned, you can get a 200B for about $125... Sure that's higher than $80-$90 but compared to the Colorsplash Jr., it's way better than twice as good. From your pictures, it's hard to tell if the Delyia is twice as good as the Jr... That's why I'd love to compare the Delyia directly to the 200B. I know the 200B has a much better beam angle, but not sure about the brightness-- the Delyia probably beats it on that, and also on color mixing. And price

You know, those have got to be the same factory's product. The American DJ 64B *is* the same can. It has a gel holder added to the front (who needs a gel holder on a RGB unit though?) and it has one more hanging bracket. It looks like the American DJ also has a few more options in it's firmware as it has a 6 channel mode as well as the 4 channel mode that the Deliya has. It uses 181 LEDs to the Deliya's 183. It has that little LED display on the back of it to show the mode it's in too, the Deliya doesn't have that.

Other than that, it's the same tech, same stuff, just costs more. ;(

These (Deliya) are virtually identical to the American DJ P64 Pro units I use and I can tell you the output is massive. I can't speak for the Deliya, but I have seen my units with 181 10mm led's in a direct comparison to the ColorSplash 200b's and they blow them out of the water...probably half again more output... I would definitely go with the Deliya's over the ColorSplash.. I just wish I had seen the Deliyas before I paid almost $300 per for my ADJ's.

Directly comparing the Jr and the Delyia, I'd say it would take about 8 of the Jrs to equal a single Delyia.....

So comparing $50 to $80, it's a no-brainer for me.

You got me listening now as I have four of the Chauvet LEDSplash Jr, now for the diffuser in front of the LEDs truly help with the mixing of the colors.

Me needs to look more in to this
